RS: Bible Quotes

If you learn nothing else for your RS exam (not advisable) learn a few decent Bible quotes. Even if you can't remember them word for word, stick in the reference. Adding one in appropriately will raise your grade very nicely. What's best, here's a few good examples:

Matthew 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." Baptism. Obvious really...

The Beatitudes.

Matthew 5:3

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Pretty much everything a Christian strives to be is here. Very useful. :)
Mathew 5:38-41 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also..." Jesus said don't fight back.
Matthew 7 "Do Unto Others as you would have them do unto you." Treat other people as you'd want to be treated.
Matthew 9:9 Jesus mixed with anyone. Equality.
Exodus 20

Thou shalt not kill
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not have idols
Thou shalt not worship other gods
Thou shalt not covet (want)
Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Love, death, wealth, religion... Pretty useful, huh?
1 Corinthians 3 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy. Don't destroy. (including yourself/others).

1 Corinthians 14:34

Luke 23 "Forgive them Father, they no not what they do" - Jesus on his crucifixion. Forgiveness
Luke 7: 1-10 Parable of the Good Samaritan. Racism
Luke 6: 20 "Blessed are you who are poor, for the kingdom of God is yours." Wealth
Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Greek nor Jew, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female". Equality
Genesis 1 Everyone is equal. Equality
Genesis 1 You are the protectors, masters, etc. Don't destroy the world entrusted to you!
Apostles Creed "Resurrection of the dead and the light of the world to come..." The fundamental belief of Christianity.
